From the holy city of Lhasa, to Everest Base Camp, and the breathtaking Namtso Sky Lake, this tour blends culture, nature, and high-altitude adventure in a well-paced itinerary designed for proper acclimatization and deep exploration.
🗺 DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1 – Arrival in Lhasa
Pick up from Lhasa Airport and transfer to hotel.
Afternoon rest for acclimatization.
Overnight at medium Tibetan-style hotel (central Lhasa).
Day 2 – Lhasa City Tour
Morning visit Drepung Monastery, the largest monastery of the Gelugpa sect, founded in 1416 by Jamyang Choejie, a disciple of Tsongkhapa.
Afternoon visit Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Market.
Jokhang is the holiest shrine in Tibet, housing the sacred statue of Buddha Shakyamuni brought by Princess Wencheng during her marriage to King Songtsen Gampo.

Day 3 – Lhasa City Tour
Morning visit Potala Palace, the former seat of Tibetan religion and politics.
Originally built in the 7th century by King Songtsen Gampo and renovated in the 17th century by the 5th Dalai Lama.
Afternoon visit Sera Monastery, located 5 km north of Lhasa, founded in 1419.
One of the three great Gelugpa (Yellow Sect) monasteries in Tibet.
Overnight at same hotel in Lhasa.
Day 4 – Lhasa to Shigatse
Drive to Shigatse via:

Gyantse and Kumbum Chorten
Distance: 365 km | 8–9 hours
Overnight at medium hotel in Shigatse.
Day 5 – Shigatse to Everest Base Camp
Drive to Everest Base Camp (EBC) via Gyatso-La Pass (5,225m).
Distance: 350 km
Overnight at guest house with dormitory accommodation near EBC.
Day 6 – Everest Base Camp to Shigatse
Morning exploration at Everest Base Camp.
Afterwards drive back to Shigatse.
Distance: 350 km | approx. 8 hours
Overnight at medium hotel in Shigatse.
Day 7 – Shigatse – Yangpachen – Damshung
Morning visit Tashilhunpo Monastery, seat of the Panchen Lamas.

Distance: 280 km | 6–7 hours
Overnight at medium hotel in Damshung.
Day 8 – Namtso Lake – Return to Lhasa
Drive to Namtso Lake via Largenla Pass (5,190m).
Transfer to government environment bus to the lake area.
Namtso, meaning “Sky Holy Lake”, is the highest and one of the largest lakes in Tibet.
Explore the lake area before driving back to Lhasa.
Distance: 250 km | approx. 4 hours
Overnight at medium hotel in Lhasa.
Day 9 – Lhasa Free Day
Morning visit Phabungkha Meditation Cave, associated with King Songtsen Gampo and Tsongkhapa.
Afternoon free time for rest and shopping in Lhasa.
Overnight at medium hotel in Lhasa.
Day 10 – Departure
Transfer to Lhasa Airport.
Fly to Chengdu or other cities in China.
End of Tibet tour.
